Seychelles – Away – 2011
Collecting national team shirts from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe.
The Belize national football team have done nothing of any particular note since they were inducted into FIFA in 1986. They were the first team to win in qualification for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil by coming from behind to beat the tiny island nation of Montserrat 5-2. Belize were almost kicked out of the competition all together after the Belize government failed to provide security for the home leg. The game was postponed causing disruption to the Montserrat team who had many UK based semi-pro and amatuer players.
This shirt is HUGE, and incredibly hard to find. I originally tried contacting the only footballer that I knew living in Belize, former Charlton Athletic star Andy Hunt. No luck anywhere until this randomly appeared on the US eBay. I got it, just, and for a hell of alot of money.

I love this shirt. I love any shirt that isn’t just a Puma/Adidas template. These shirts came from a lovely lady who works for Brokal, the spanish makers of the Equatorial Guinea shirts.
Unfortunately Equatorial Guinea have just signed a 5 year deal with Puma. Although some of the new Puma Africa range are very nice, I doubt that Equatorial Guinea will be given the same attention.
I’m currently struggling to find photos of this shirt in use. However, I have found a video from the AFC U19 Championships. It was worn during Guam’s 26-0 defeat to Japan in October:
The shirt was sold to me as “match worn U19 shirt” by a Thai seller. Since the AFC U19 Championships was hosted by Thailand, then I am inclined to believe them.
